IN THE EYE OF THE STORM!!!!!

Today (8/20/16) we had a real tornado warning.  It did touch down in Wyoming, but not close enough to us.

Our back deck...

Back yard...

Our driveway and neighbor's front yard...

Our biggest limb down - nothing to brag about...

Pinery park (2/10 of a mile SE of us)

Across the street from Pinery Park...

A few blocks south of us, the tree is laying on TWO cars...

Thankfully there was no damage to our house.  When the sirens went off, we headed to the basement. We forgot to shut the windows.  We had some wet floors and one bed, but otherwise we survived without too much damage.

Tim, Elyse & I picked up the bigger branches from our yard.  Elyse picked up the front yard of the neighbors (he was all by himself cleaning up his yard).

We lost electricity for about two hours.  Nothing lost there either.  Elyse's restaurant closed because of no electricity, so she didn't have to work tonight.

Praise God for his awesome care of us and our neighbors.

MORE PROGRESS!!!!!

I finished the bathroom curtain (thanks, Lacey).  I think it is too much blue and too much of the same pattern, but that is the way it is going to be for a LONG time.

There are still more projects, more boxes to unpack, and some cleaning to do.  All in good time!

A WORK IN PROGRESS!!!!!

We thought the tan color on the shutters was too boring.

The before...

Sorry for the dark photo - I thought with the sun shining on it, it would be pretty clear.  I guess you will have to come see it in person.  The mailbox and house numbers will be painted tonight!

The painted mailbox and the house numbers.

We think we have to buy darker paint for the mailbox, house numbers and the door.  What do you think?

THE EENSY WEENSY SPIDER!!!!!

Our latest addition to our backyard.  There were actually two of them.  This one didn't care that we were watching and taking pictures.  The other one took off running when we touched the web.  When it took off, so did Zachary.  He says there are brown recluse at Grace and he wants to be far away from them.

Enjoy!
