IT'S FREE!!!!!

If you sign up for Culver's stuff, you get a free sundae for your birthday.  Zachary was playing his guitar at a nursing home and invited the "gang" to join us for our birthday sundaes.  Here we are left to right:  Dad, me, Zachary, Mr. Kasper, Lydia, Naomi, Elyse and Ethan.  Fun times!

Now we'll have to sign Elyse and Dad up!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

Today is my 29th birthday!

Tim, Zachary & Elyse took me out to Signature Cafe in Hudsonville.  We usually do dinner for me, but tonight at church is our Grace Cafe which includes dinner before the evening activities.  So, we opted for breakfast.  We all had these HUGE cinnamon rolls and Tim & I had quiche.  It was marvelous.  Elyse had a Shamrock Shake that was really good (she let me have the first swig).

Tim went shopping to my favorite store and got the following clothes.  You can't really see the necklace very well, but it was also in the gift box.

The kids have late start this morning because of a teachers' meeting.  They don't start until 9:50, which allowed us to have a leisurely breakfast.  Good food, great presents and good conversation.

So far, it is a glorious day.

TEACHER OF THE STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!!!

If you saw my previous post, you know that Elyse was voted Student of the Month.  One of her teachers sent me this email:

Hi!  I hope that you are doing well.  When students are nominated to be Students of the Month, we always ask them if there is a teacher that has impacted them.  Elyse said that you impacted her because you taught her for the first 8 years of her education and instilled in her a love of reading.  I thought that was sweet that she chose to recognize you for that, and wanted to make sure that you knew.

Elyse got the red plate a few days ago for being Student of the Month.  Today, I got the red plate for being the Teacher of the Student of the Month.  Quite the honor for both of us.

WHAT THE?

This is how it looked AFTER I punched it down.  I could hardly get the dough out of the machine.  The machine was full and the lid wouldn't even stay shut.  Crazy!  I hope it turns out when baked!  I guess I won't try doubling that recipe again - maybe if I did 1 1/2 times the recipe it would work better.  It sure smells good baking though!
