I was sure we lived in the city and wouldn't find any unusual "creatures" in our yard. Boy, was I wrong!

We heard it gobbling tonight.

We have flocks (is that the proper term?) wander through our neighborhood, and toms that chase you when they're nesting. Haha! And nobody is allowed to shoot them and eat them. Crazy!
In other news, the DNR says a black bear was spotted in Ottawa County where we live) yesterday. Apparently we are returning to wilderness.
Oh wow! A bear??? That does not sound safe.
