ART PROJECTS!!!!!

Elyse went to "Picasso's Workshop" on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. It was one hour each day at the Elk Grove Village Library (one hour away from home). She loved it! The class is taught by an art teacher with her daughter helping out.

Her first project was painting animals.

The second day she worked with clay. They made a bird's nest. The egg is a cardboard egg that Elyse painted.

On the second day, they made two projects with the clay. The second one was a mosaic. Elyse pushed sequins, beads and shells into clay, then covered it with sand (which most of it ended up on the floor in the car - fun times).

The last day was collages. Each butterfly was painted and added to the tissue paper.

There is a second class in the fall. Because Elyse already attended a class, she gets to go for half price. Depending on our schedule, she might go again. Enjoy her creativity.

Wow. What a fun mind she has! I am so excited to see all the things she is going to create as she gets older and adds to her skills. Nice work, Elyse! Was making the sand project a HUGE mess?? At least you didn't do anything with glitter. That never ends well. :)

Your clay bird nest is completely believable! You even picked a color for the egg that actually occurs in nature. (no one would think a hot pink egg was realistic, for example) It looks awesome!

love you,
Betsey

Cool, Elyse! I think an art class sounds really fun. I like art projects. I think my favorite piece was your mosaic, it was beautiful!

Keep up the good work.

Wow, Elyse! YOur work is great! I especially like the bird's nest & egg. It looks just like the robin's egg we found on our sidewalk yesterday. Love you!
