PUPPET SHOW!!!!!

Today the children from VCL put on a puppet show for senior citizens and four year olds. It is a day care that is intergenerational. There is a preschool day care and a senior citizens day care. Emma and Chatham played a piano solo, then on with the puppet show.

From left to right: Front row: Micah (holding Bobby), Emma (holding Henrietta), Jacquelin (holding Clara). Back row: Emma (holding Gma), Elyse (holding Patty), Chatham (holding Oliver) and Zachary (holding Mr. Crump).

Zachary and Elyse took part. Elyse was "Patty." Zachary was "Mr. Crump." They did a very good job. My part was to hold the curtain up to block the audience from seeing the puppeteers. The audience loved it very much. One man was directing the piano solos with his hands, he must love music.

After the program, we headed to Portillos for lunch. It is a very LOUD restaurant with tremendous food. It was a lot of fun!

What a neat ministry! I am so glad you have the kids serving the Lord at such a young age. Your church has some exciting opportunities for them.

What was it like being at an inter-generational facility? I am not sure how I would feel if I were one of the senior citizens. Did you get the impression everyone was comfortable there? This is a new concept for me.

Thanks for the update! I am sure you did a lovely job holding up the curtain. :)

love,
Betsey

Each group had its own rooms to use most of the day. They get them together during the day for special activities and just getting to know one another. I don't know about the children, but the adults are thrilled to see little ones. We had 4 year olds and senior citizens. They had a great time touching the puppets, clapping to the piano solos and enjoying the show. It was a great experience for all.
