Z'S FIRST BBALL TOURNEY!!!!!
Zachary played his first basketball tournament today. We drove 1 1/2 hours to Waukesha, Wisconsin. It was a L-O-N-G drive. The GPS was good to us on the way there, got us there without any errors.
Coach's son, Daniel, didn't want his picture taken, so I got him when he least expected it.

Zachary's first game was against the Lakeshore Thunder. Tough name, not so tough players. It was a fun game though. The final score was 28-19.
The tip off (looks like Zachary kicked the ball, but he didn't, he was just coming down after winning the tip off).
Duh, what do I do now?
The next game wouldn't start for an hour. Elyse & I went out to the car to eat our picnic lunch. Zachary didn't want to eat between games, so he hung around with the rest of the team.
The second game was against SWCHA Saints (they call it swisha). We don't know what it stands for, but they were a homeschool team. Dad says that is Southeastern Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Association (he is so smart).
Do you think he made the point?
Zachary was fouled several times, here he is shooting his freethrows...
"We are the champions of the world..."
Now about that GPS! It really goofed us up going home. It kept telling us to exit here and exit there, we ended up in downtown Milwaukee. I finally gave up listening to it and just winged it. We made it home just fine. Who needs technology?

Congratulations, Zach! Now get the same results next week when I am there.
So exciting! I am so proud of Zach and happy for his team. Way to go with all those pictures and videos, Mom! Nice work. Did Zach make both of those free throws? I couldn't tell with the first shot.
So Zach has another tournament coming up?? What grades are the teams in this one?

Nope, the first free throw was nothing but net (literally - the ball went under the rim and hit the net). He did, however, make the second shot. It was a fun day of games. We are proud of Zachary's team.

I missed the first free throw. One of my teammates in the video came up and said, "Too bad it wasn't anything but net. Wait, it was!" That made me laugh which you can see if you make the video full screen. Then I came up and made the second one, again nothing but net.

Well, nicely done sir. Do you have another tournament this coming weekend?

Yes, the final tournament is this Friday (the 25th). He plays at 5:00 (6:00 your time). If he wins, he plays at 8:15 (9:15 your time). If he loses, he plays at 7:00 (8:00 your time). He is sure they are going to win. It is 1 1/2 hours away from here. It will be a long night. Right after the games, we will be taking him to church for his All-night party. Sunday ought to be a bear!
