MUSEUM!!!!!
We have been wanting to go to this museum in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for months. The Hedges and our schedules didn't match up. We decided to go today. Z & E wondered if we could just take the Hedges children without their mom. Yep, that is how it worked out for today. The kids and I left this morning around 9:30. The museum is one hour away.
The museum is a block-long brick building with small rooms inside. Each room depicts a certain part of history (cars, pharmacy, store, house, etc.). The kids seemed to have a good time looking at things, reading the signs and playing with things that weren't labeled "do not touch."
Anchor's Away...
A Studebaker...
Did you know this? Shocking, isn't it?
Anyone want a perm in their hair?
Emma & Elyse pretending to cook on an old stove:
Chatham sharpening his tools, Elyse pumping air on the fire, and Zachary hitting Elyse over the head with a hammer (typical, eh?)...
Zachary & Chatham playing with a machine until they read the sign, "Do not touch."
Prisoners, at last...
Elyse got a kick out of these rules - you'll have to click on the picture to read some of them...
Does she remind you of a dog?
Everyone seemed to have a good time. It was great to get away for the day - especially since it wasn't so hot today.

Fun times! I'm glad you were finally able to make it!
Fun! And I am sure Mrs. Hedges appreciated the break from the kids. I'm glad Z and E were able to have friends tag along.
The perm machine looks like a torturing device! Aagh!
I love the rules for passengers on the Wells Fargo stagecoach. Very fun, and they give a good demonstration of some of the values and standards of that time period. A great way to help the kids keep a mental picture of that time period! Way to go, history teacher. :)
love,
Betsey
Haha, the stagecoach rules made me laugh too.
Was Elyse trying to look like a dog in that photo, or did you just catch her at an awkward moment? Looks just like my pups when we take a walk! :)
Fun trip. Love you guys!
Yes, Elyse was trying to look like a dog. They were acting weird the whole tour of the museum. But, at least they had fun.
