BIRTHDAY and SURPRISES!!!!!

Elyse turned 13 on Friday.  For dinner she chose Bulgogi, Butterbeer, Root Beer, and Cheesecake w/strawberries.  On a recent trip to Jelly Belly, she found Harry Potter style jelly beans.  Here is the chocolate frog, flavored jelly beans (vomit, dirt, earthworm, black pepper, watermelon, cherry, blueberry, etc.).

Jaden giving the jelly beans a try.
Grace not sure if she likes it...
Dad had a brilliant of putting together two puzzles.  The guys against the girls.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  Although, the guys puzzle was VERY HARD to do.

The guys being good sports!
Everyone giving it a go, including little ones...
The birthday girl with Grace.  Anxious for presents!
Opening...(with Micah cheating - we called a truce on the puzzle making while presents were opened...
Jaden getting involved.
Yeah!  Her boots!
I think she likes them...
The girls finished their puzzle in record time.
Elyse showing off her work...
Now the girls are helping the guys finish theirs.
Butterbeer for Elyse's birthday!
The first sip is amazing.  After Luke's first ship he said, "Oh, I like it."  Second sip, "I think I'm going to throw up."
Don't try this at home!
Elyse didn't even like it and it was her "Harry Potter" choice.
Ava - our gymnast.
After the picture, she said, "Ouch!"
Jaden loved playing game cube with Uncle Zachary...
Zelda helping Micah and Dan-O play a computer game.
JJAJANG BOP (wonderful, made by Emily and Dan)
Three die-hards trying to finish the boys puzzle.
IT IS FINISHED!!!!!

Everyone votes to throw out the guys' puzzle.  It is way too hard.

As the person who gave each group their puzzle, I humbly apologize to the Rumley males for giving them the puzzle with vast areas of blue sky and ocean devoid of distinguishing features. If we do this again, I will get us one that features Mickey Mouse.

The puzzle race was such a fun activity! This year was full of new traditions. I loved it!

Happy Birthday, Elyse! It was so fun to be there to celebrate with you!
