ALL-STAR GAME!!!!!

The All-Star Game was today at 1:15. We were able to attend church, otherwise, Zachary wouldn't have gotten to play. It was 89 degrees, but felt like 91. The wind was strong (which was good), but the field was dry and it blew the sand right in our faces. Zachary was amazing! I think this was his best game. He was three for three, with two singles and a double, three runs scored, one RBI, and we lost count of how many stolen bases. Defensively, he caught a pop fly at second base. He played left field, second base, right field and center field. Zachary's team won with a score of 20-3. Each player got an All-Star t-shirt. Here is Zachary proudly displaying his.

The writing says, "Vernon Hills Athletic Association Baseball All-Star 2010." In case you can't read it. We are proud of him.

Tonight the FIREWORKS - can't wait!!!!!

Before the game they told the boys, "We'll play seven innings today no matter what." Thankfully, they reneged and called it after 5-1/2. It was a lonnnggg game in 90-degree heat. Way to go, Zach!

What a great kid! Awesome work, Zach; I am so proud of you! Wowza, we have an all-star athlete in the family. It's like being related to someone famous. Way to go!

What's an RBI?

Betsey

I am super proud of you, Zachary David! Great job this season. It's nice to get a win at the end of the season, isn't it? Wish I could have seen it!

Zachary was upset that I made my last comment like it was coming from him. It WAS his idea, but he said it was something Elyse would say, NOT him. Sorry for the confusion. Zachary loves stats.

That's nice of you to make that correction. Zach is the one always quoting numbers for professional players; it did surprise me a little that he would say that. However, I assumed it was meant sarcastically because he understands that non-sporting people find it to be really boring, but in fact he actually loves it. Your reputation is still intact, bud!

Love you guys,
Betsey
