FT. WAYNE!!!!!
After a trip to LA, watching four grand children, we decided to go to Ft. Wayne for the zoo and the Johnny Appleseed Festival.
Zachary enjoyed playing video games, either by himself, or against Micah, Elyse or Betsey. It was fun watching them (except when I fell asleep).
The kids being silly at the zoo:
Petting the animals:
This guy was scary, he paced back and forth right in front of us:
Dad asked that this picture be posted. It was supposed to be me kissing this guy, but the rude people next to us were in the way. Figures!
See what I was getting in to:
The zoo has a new exhibit, the sky lift. Don't EVER go on it. Three of us were terrified and ready to lose our lunch. Zachary was green:
Two more of the terrified people:
We even got to play in an old workers' truck:
We kept hearing drums. We found them and added our own band to the air:
The penguins kept having business meetings:
The highlight of the zoo was the log ride:
Saturday, we went to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. It was a lot of fun! Micah was able to go with us because he doesn't work on Saturdays.
The gang beside Johnny's grave site:
I have more pictures, but am too lazy to post them. Come see them for yourself!
It was a great weekend! We loved Betsey & Micah's apartment. They are doing so well!

The face-to-face with a crocodile pictures need to be posted.
How fun! That's the most interactive zoo I've very seen. I'm glad you are getting to see all of your kids. Hopefully you'll see this one someday soon.
OK, face-to-face crocodile picture is going up...
Love this post, the pictures, and your visit! These pics make it look as fun as it was; nice job, camera lady!
I am so glad you were all able to come and see what we're all about in Fort Wayne.
Bummer about the alligator picture. It could've been such a great shot! If you're taking requests, I think the close-up of the alligator's face needs to posted. That was an awesome picture!
love you,
Betsey
So which is it, crocodile or alligator?

I give you now Professor Twist,
A conscientious scientist,
Trustees exclaimed, "He never bungles!"
And sent him off to distant jungles.
Camped on a tropic riverside,
One day he missed his loving bride.
She had, the guide informed him later,
Been eaten by an alligator.
Professor Twist could not but smile.
"You mean," he said, "a crocodile."
All right, already..the picture is going up now...
Elyse says: "I actually liked the sky ride. Betsey was kind of scared on the ride, so we had a bet and I won, and for some reason, I still do not have a mood ring.:)"
Mom - thanks for posting it! Did you it scare you a little, getting that close to that face??
Elyse - I don't know what you are talking about. ;)
love,
Betsey
Love you guys! My family is so goofy. Me likey.
Mom, those 'gator shots are AWESOME! I would have been slightly terrified to be that close to one. Glass or no glass.
Are you really petting a platypus in that picture? Cuz that would be wicked sweet!
This post made me miss you all. Again! :) It was so great to see you two weekends ago. Looking forward to our next visit, wherever that might be!
Thanks for Skyping with me 'n' Bristol! She misses her grandma.
Zachary wants to surprise you THIS weekend, but that won't be possible. A cool thought though.
The platypus was a statue - but thought it would make a good picture.
Elyse says: "Mom wouldn't let me 'step' on the stingray though.
And, Betsey - those long sleeved shirts that we bought at Old Navy, they are a lot softer than I thought."
