BLIZZARD 2013

We had a gorgeous moon last night - Elyse was our photographer.

The normal 20-25 minute drive to Zachary's school took 1.25 hours there and 50 minutes back.  I couldn't see what the traffic problem was.  We were just lined up for miles going no where.  When we got home, finally, we took a picture of our swing.

The snow is still coming down.  It is supposed to keep coming until tomorrow afternoon.  Zachary is hoping for a snow day.  Elyse is hoping too (to bad for her, huh?).

MORE BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Since Zachary's birthday and mine are so close together, we decided to celebrate together this year.  We also added our friend, Lisa Newell, to the shindig because her birthday is on the 15th - same day as Zachary.

We decided on a "Build Your Own Sundaes" for our treat.  We had Vanilla Bean & Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.  For toppings, we had Oreo Double Stuff, bananas, mini M & M's, strawberries, hot fudge, chocolate syrup and whipped cream.  Lisa brought us the double layer chocolate cake with walnuts on the top and sides.  It was scrumptious.

It was a fun day of celebration.  Thanks for all the well wishes - it was a year to remember!

THE BIRTHDAY BOY!!!!!

Zachary's basketball season ended today!  At the fourth quarter, with 54 seconds left on the clock, we were winning 60-49.

Then the ref decided to ADD 2 1/2 minutes to the clock and this was the result: We are the home team.

Obviously, they lost the game.  BUT, why they added  2 1/2 minutes to the clock - no one knows.  I guess the refs wanted the OTHER team to win (and they did).

When we got home, we decided to celebrated Zachary turning 15 (since he was at the tournament on his actual birthday).

I think he is pleased.  We got him a leather-bound, ESV study Bible with his name imprinted on the front.

He really likes it!  Score for the parents!

ACSI CONTINUED!!!!!

Here is the famous Zachary making several 3-pointers during warmups.  He is on the far side of the gym.  Too bad they lost the game last night, 53-39.  Today's game is at 3:00!

SLEDDING AND CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Elyse had two friends over today to go sledding.  One of the friends could only be here one hour, so they went sledding first.  Elyse found a recipe online to make brownies in a mug in the microwave.  So, we got all the ingredients out and the girls made them.
