WE ARE GOING!

The time is here - the time is now. We leave tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. YIKES! We aren't ready, but we will be.

Yesterday we made a quick trip to GR. We left here at 10:30 a.m. and got back at 7:00 p.m. It was rushed, but very successful.

We got Elyse's dress ordered - YEAH! She doesn't like it, but what's new. "Give it to Mikey, he hates everything." Yep, that's Elyse.

The photographer has been decided. The downpayment paid. YEAH! One more thing to cross off the LONG list.

GREAT NIGHT!!!!!

The girls bought both Dad & I new clothes for our anniversary. We took pictures - will post them later!

For our 27th anniversary we first went to Abuelo's in Merrillville. It was great food, but a bit expensive for tacos and rice. We saw Cort & Donna there. Dave, Nadine and Jessica were there with Nadine's parents. Nadine's parents were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary - Congratulations!

Then we went to Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso. We saw "George M. Cohan." It was awesome. Great singing - great tap dancing! The main character was out of this world. The funniest part was when a man was singing, with arms out wide, and his fly was open. He soon corrected that error, but it caused a great bit of laughter from the audience. During intermission we stood and looked toward the back and the balcony. In the balcony a lady was waving to who knows who. I kept looking around, but the lady kept waving. I asked Tim if he knew that lady (I was too blind to figure out who she was). Turns out, it was Maxine Wittmer and Florence Soliday from church. What a small world! I guess you can't go anywhere without meeting someone (better stay on our best behavior, you never know who we will see).

This week: packing, studying, packing, studying - did I say packing and studying? It will be a harried week, but it will be great in the end!

Have a super week all who read this nonsense!

I THINK I WILL START WHINING!!!!!

Don't know if it is because it is summer, but no one comments anymore. So.....on that note, this is the last update unless I get some comments.

Hyo-Sun is safe in Korea - she called and left a message and also emailed. She had a good trip, albeit long (18 hours).

My mom will be here tonight. She is attending a conference at Family Christian Center in Munster. She will be in the RV.

I have lots to do and I don't want to do it. I need some books! Any offers? My library has been read once and many of them twice. Help!

I bought some cool gifts for our vacation. Girls: You will be included this year (if that doesn't merit a comment, I quit!).

Even if you don't spend time commenting, I still love you and accept you. TTFN!

MIXED FEELINGS!

Hyo-Sun leaves today. Dad & Hyo-Sun got as far as the corner, when Elyse got up to say good-bye. "B" put her back to bed. Hyo-Sun's flight leaves at 12:13 today. It will take 15 hours of flight plus a 3 hour layover in Japan. Wouldn't want her day for anything!

The Bon Voyage party was a hit. Hyo-Sun was so pleased - cried alot! She got ALOT of gifts and money. I am sure she will be buying plenty of "American Snacks" (as she calls them) to take to Korea. She especially loved the "24" DVD's and the red plate. She says she will start several traditions with her family when she gets home (red plate, waving at the window and hugs goodbye - we had a "13 way hug last night").

Today is filled with phone calls setting up photographers for the wedding. Not to mention cleaning up from the weekend - what a mess! Elyse's room alone will take a whole day!

"B" has the day off. After she wakes up, she is going to watch the kids while I shop for vacation presents (remember that guys?).

Need to get my day started (actually, it started 3 hours ago). Thanks to all who came to bid farewell to Hyo-Sun, she really appreciated it! Thanks!

WHAT A DAY!!!!!

After breakfast, I asked "Z" if he wanted to be drugged. He said, "No, I'll make it." So, B, Z, E & I left at 9:00 a.m. to get the Sable from Grace. We stopped at the bank first, made a deposit and then remembered "B" left her keys at home. So, we went back home. Then when we were approaching Valpo, "Z" asked for the windows to be opened (meaning he is getting car sick). So, we opened the windows and asked if he would be all right. Of course he would (understatement). We made it to Grace, but he was green around the gills. After taking some parts off the Sable, calling three junk yards and starting the Sable, we were off to the junk yard. The car drove GREAT! So, arriving at the junk yard, I called "T" and asked if we should just come home (knowing that instead of $50 we could get $250 from a local junk yard). So, I drove it home. It went up to 65 mph on Rt. 30. "Z" decided to really get sick and threw up in the NEW car. So, we stopped, cleaned that up best we could with Kleenex (not recommended) and stopped to eat. After eating, we were on the road again. We made it to Wanatah and the car overheated and the radiator hose blew up. We got home and "T and I went to take the car to the junk yard in Wanatah. BUT, it was closed. So, we came home. Tomorrow, I have to call said junk yard and see if they will take it. After getting rid of the car, we head to swimming at the "Y" in Valpo, then to lunch, then to GR. Believe you me, we will be drugging that boy for sure. That is today's saga - will write more after we get back on Saturday (if we live so long).

ANOTHER DAY OF DRIVING!

"B" and I are going to get the "bomb." We are then taking it to the junk yard. Fun times!

Friday we will drive to GR. Saturday we will drive home. I can't think of a better thing to do but drive this week. The kids will love it!
